About Us

La OM Jewelry is a private studio based in upstate New York, specializing in custom fine jewelry, heirloom redesign, and solid gold body jewelry.

Founded by Laura Ortiz McCaffrey in 2016, the studio operates through a one-on-one design process—no retail floor, no production line. Every piece is developed directly with the client, from initial concept through fabrication, with a focus on longevity, wearability, and meaning.

Laura works primarily with recycled gold and ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones. Projects range from fully custom engagement rings and wedding bands to reworking inherited pieces into designs that reflect how you live now.

Heirloom redesign is a core part of the studio. Old settings, mismatched stones, and unworn pieces are deconstructed and rebuilt into something intentional—preserving their history while giving them a new form and purpose.

In addition to custom work, the studio produces solid 14k gold body jewelry designed for continuous wear, along with repair and restoration services for pieces that need refinement or renewal.
