Jewelry Care

Your jewelry is made to be worn. Thoughtful care will help preserve its finish, stones, and structure over time.

Everyday Care

Last on, first off.

Avoid wearing your jewelry while swimming, bathing, exercising, sleeping, or using household cleaning products. Allow perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and cosmetics to dry before putting your jewelry on.

Store each piece dry and separately in a pouch or jewelry box.

Copper Jewelry

Most LA•OM copper jewelry is sealed to help preserve its finish and reduce direct contact between the metal and your skin.

The protective coating may gradually wear in areas exposed to moisture, friction, or frequent handling. As this occurs, the copper may deepen in color or naturally develop a patina. This is a characteristic of the metal and not a defect.

Wipe sealed copper gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use polishing cloths, abrasives, commercial jewelry cleaners, or chemical dips, as they may damage or remove the protective finish.

Sterling Silver

Store sterling silver dry and away from humidity. Gently polish with a cloth intended for sterling silver when needed.

Avoid chemical dips on jewelry containing stones, oxidized details, plated surfaces, or mixed metals.

Gold and Platinum

Clean plain gold or platinum jewelry with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft brush. Rinse carefully and dry completely with a soft cloth.

Pieces containing delicate stones, pearls, enamel, antiquing, or specialty finishes may require different care.

Gemstones

Gemstones vary widely in hardness, stability, and sensitivity to heat, moisture, chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaning.

Do not place a piece in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner unless you know the stone and construction are suitable. When uncertain, use only a soft, dry cloth and contact LA•OM for guidance.

Chains, Clasps and Settings

Avoid pulling, bending, or sleeping in delicate chains. Check clasps, prongs, stone settings, and connecting rings periodically.

Stop wearing the piece if anything feels loose, bent, caught, or damaged. Continued wear may cause further damage or stone loss.
