Herkimer Diamond

Herkimer diamonds are naturally double-terminated quartz crystals most famously associated with Herkimer County, New York.

Despite the name, they are not diamonds. They are quartz crystals valued for their brightness, natural faceting, and distinctive pointed terminations at both ends. Many contain veils, rainbows, fluid inclusions, carbon, or other natural internal features.
